Did you know the United States recycles roughly 32% of our waste? Upcycling, a transformative process of reuse by merging older items into something new, can help reduce landfill waste at it’s core.

Seattle has a very healthy ecosystem for obtaining reclaimed, recycled, or deadstock materials. This allows all of our upcycling projects to feature as many reclaimed materials as possible.

What’s Upcycle currently sells products online via Etsy, accepts commissions, and collaborates with other local upcycling/reuse groups. Our completed projects include home decor, holiday decor, gift bags, handbags, and memorial quilts.

About Viliamu

Viliamu is a self-taught multimedia artist with a passion for reclaiming unconventional materials using various patchwork designs and techniques. His approach to patchwork allows for strategic use of materials, no matter how large or small the quantity.

Viliamu is currently experimenting with merging his Samoan heritage and his affinity for patchwork by replicating various traditional Samoan art styles as geometric patchwork.
